I've been looking for any sort of answer to this, but I haven't found anything specifically addressing it. I want to just get some general info on what people think.
I'm going to be running a mythic campaign, and one of the players is a druid. They are wondering if they can use wild shape and have it function as if using mythic beast shape.
As of now, I think this is against the rules. For one, wild shape doesn't mention it and specifically says it functions as beast shape. Also, since druids cannot access the base beast shape spells, they shouldn't be able to learn the mythic anyway.
However, I want to allow as much as I can even if it is technically against the rules, but I am still fairly new and don't know how allowing this would affect the balance of the game. Do you more experienced players think that allowing the use of mythic beast shape would unbalance things too much? Maybe he should have to spend a feat slot of mythic feat on it to balance it, or should he just have to learn the mythic beast shape spells (without having the base spells)?

Here's my opinion on the matter. If you were to allow this, you should require that they take Mythic Spell Lore (and/or Mythic Spellcasting). They then would take 1 spell per tier (or two if they took both) and must choose the mythic spell versions of the wild shapes that they want (Beast Shape I, Elemental Body IV, etc.).
Like any spellcaster who wants to cast mythic spells, they must then spend mythic points to activate that ability.
It's a lot for little reward, in my opinion, especially with Mythic Powerful Shape exists.
It shouldn't be automatic (unless it's also automatic for other spellcasters in your game) and it shouldn't be free (should still require a mythic point to use), particularly since they can change and stay in their form for hours.
