Groovy. Thanks!

Knowledge (History)
Knowledge (Nobility)

I figure growing up in a fairly wealthy and somewhat noble family he had a pretty good education, but it focused on the history of the kingdom and its various noble houses.

Those are both part of Knowledge Humanities. The list of knowledges I use (and which creatures they identify) is on the Knowledge Skill page.

Sigh, I promise I'll get the hang of it. Off to look at the Skills page!

Humanities and Geography. I think they still think they can relate to his background education.

Don't worry about it Cal, there's enough similarity to make confusion easy. Sometimes I doublecheck and I wrote it all lol.

Looks good.

Ok, I put off doing today what I said I was going to do tonight. So now I've GOT to do those things.

Just two more questions and I'll check the answers as soon as I can.

How many Grit Points do I get (a la the Spidey Sense thing you mentioned for my special power and is there an official character sheet or do I just make my own? I'm good with doing the latter. It's what I do with my own characters and NPCs in my homebrew game.

Thanks for all your patience!

Hi there

Is there still space for one more?

EDIT: Main issue for me would be that I am CAT so 9 hours ahead of you guys.
So depending on length of play and time of day I either can or cant do it.

Time conversion so you don't have to find one

For now there is always room for more, because I'd like to have several groups.

Edit: google is my time converter, and large timezone gaps cause some scheduling challenges, but nothing that can't be worked around.

This group has enough scheduling challenges as is though, so I'm going to ask you to hang around for the next group.

No problem. I have also pmed you just in case my preferred time happens to slot in.

2 Grit points at a time [1+1 per level], they recover quickly between combats [after 5 minutes of peace.] I don't believe I'll be using the 'regain grit by behavior' rules Paizo has, they seem a bit weird to me.

As to your sheet, I'll work one up on Google Docs and PM you the link, much as I've done for John.

Now we just need to find a 3rd player and figure out when we want to set this game up, and which AP we want to use.

Okedokey. Sounds good!

So John, Cal, which AP would you guys like to play? I know you've both expressed a willingness to play just about any, but surely you must have something that's caught your eye, or at least a list of ones you'd prefer to avoid [possibly because you've played or GM'd them before.]

Why not start with the first?

Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition? [First chronologically, though published several years in.]

That's fine by me, your thoughts Cal?

That sounds fine by me. When Paizo lost the rights to Dragon Magazine, they filled the remainder of my subscription with the first two books in the AP (it was for 3.5, if I recall). I never played it, as I couldn't quite fit it into the campaign I was currently running. So RotL sounds great to me.

I've never played it either. My previous game group was exclusively Shadowrun. The only D&D gaming I've done this past year was a set of 3.5 sessions in the RPG department at a local anime convention.

Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition it is!

Now we only need to figure out the schedule that works for the two of you and find a third player who can match it.

Which day(s) of the week and which time periods on those days works best for you guys?

I'm generally free on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, say, past 2:00PM Eastern Standard time. Still pulling eleven-hour shifts at work for now.
Will try to set up my Roll20 account within the next couple days.

Hmmm, Cal said he wouldn't be available on Weekends but possibly any other day.

We may wind up needing to split the two of you into separate groups [I have two other interested parties in my inbox and there must be other people that can be fished off the net.]

Dotted ... because! :-)
-- Andy

Oh no, please don't dot and run Andrew ;)

Join the conversation, talk about your schedule, which AP(s) you're interested in and what sort of character you'd like to play.

Kyrt,

I'll let you know once I have a relief trained. Once I do, I'll be available at about 9:30 PM to 1:00 AM Tuesday through Friday.

John

Which Time Zone?

Eastern. Also, just created my profile.

John

You have a ballpark on when that relief should be trained?

@ Cal can 9:30pm to 1AM Eastern work for you on any day from Tuesday through Friday? (If not, what time range DOES work best for you?)

Today, I hope. But it all depends on who is available at the office. In the meantime, I'm O.K. with being a part of two separate, smaller groups who will eventually meet up. But we still need at least another player, so we still have some time, right?

Indeed we do have time my friend. I am grateful to hear it should be only a few days rather than a few weeks lol.

If you guys notice another thread by me in Gamer Connections for RotRl, that's me fishing for additional players. Feel free to pop in with the basics I ask for in the Opening Post if you feel like it.

I'm in Central, so 8:30 to midnight should work ok. I walk my dogs between 7:30 and 8:30 most nights, but walking them at 8 shouldn't be an issue. And Tuesdays through Thursdays work out best for me.

OH...I chose a race and name. I nearly always play Humans, and his name is Lucan Gareth.

Sweet, you two are compatible schedule-wise (once John's relief is trained.) That means we only. Need one more that can make a night from Tuesday-Friday.

Is there any available room left? Long time lurker and recently coming back to pathfinder after a short break.
I would love to play any ap available other then WoTR as I have played it before.
I have 9:30 to 1 am eastern free every day of the week and weekends completely free.
I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have once I arrive home

Grand Lodge

I might be able to make Tuesdays. I'm usually out of class by 4pm Arizona time, so 7 Eastern right now. Or is it 6? I can never keep timezones straight.

Weekends completely free should make you fairly easy to partner up, I am working on filling an 'every other Sunday' game, you'd be second of three for that one.

The other player is leaning towards a Sword and Board Hero.

Tuesday evenings would slot in great with John and Cal.

Which sort of character did you have in mind TOZ?

Grand Lodge

Good question. RotR? I was geared up for a ranger/scout type person the last time we were planning on that one.

That's totally doable. You feeling more martial heavy or a more balanced lean on Nature Magic?

Martial type. Former bandit trying to go straight.

Zero magic or light magic?

Grand Lodge

Zero. He was a Tripod Games Scout class in our last home game.

Ah alright. You'll want to scroll up to where I linked the Hero Archtype (likely on the first page) read through it and choose your type. Based on this conversation I'm guessing Technician but you might favor Soul or Chi.

Alright, I'm going to go ahead and post a list of Playgroups along with their schedule and composition [in part to help me stay organized and in part to make it clear to everyone who is part of which game.] As a note, reserve players are welcome for each group if you want to.

Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition [Tuesday Evening]: John Napier playing a Redeemed Succubus Cleric with ranged support and holy healing/harming fire, DungeonmasterCal with a Swashbuckler type [complete with Grit] and TriOmegaZero with a reformed Bandit Scout.
3/3 players

AP Undetermined [Every other Sunday]: Adjule leaning towards a Shield-bearing Hero (if you wanted to explore shield as an exclusive weapon we could do that too, just a headsup), NicolasVillalpando with no concepts presented and Farindor as a tentative participant with no concepts presented.
1 confirmed player with presented concept, 2 possible players

AP Undetermined [Any Weekday within the time-frame of 9AM to 3PM Pacific Time]:
Jo the Traveller with a Shapeshifter, remaining two slots unspoken for.

1 confirmed player, 2 empty slots.

Is there a link to the new system or would you like me to post a concept first?

System details are in flux (perhaps Alpha .8 or so) and I find the best results often come from working together to realize a concept.

That being said, I provided a few document links in the other thread and can draft a post that holds them all when I get home later.

For now tell me what sort of character you would like to play.

kyrt-ryder,

I've left you a private message.

Thanks!

-- Andy

Regarding equipment and weapons, how do we acquire those? Are we assumed to have the basics and purchase weapons and such? I see him as starting out with his grandfather's Aldori dueling sword, having "inherited" it just before striking out on his own.

Basic weapons and armor [heavy or light are the mechanical difference here, choose the flavor you like] and 50 gold for miscellaneous nonmagical equipment.

Great! Thanks!

Kyrt,

Just set up my Roll20 account.

John

Very cool John, I'll create the Roll20 campaign for our RotRl tomorrow. I expect our first session will likely be one week from today.

Dark Archive

I could join, I guess, if you allowed.
