Have the current books reveal any details about who the PCs were BEFORE they entered Count Lowls' employ? There's certainly enough about what they did WHILE employed as Hasterton's lackeys, but how'd they GET there? I'm unsure but I think I remember reading in The Thrushmoor Terror something about the PCs being sold to Lowls from an Okenko slaver, but I'm not sure if I'm remembering that tidbit accurately. I ask because if that's true, it possibly opens the possibility of very unusual PCs, given how Okenko is one of the Inner Sea's biggest centers of the repugnant trade...
I think the thread title could use some spoiler protection for players scrolling by the forum.

Who or what the PCs were before they ended up working for Lowls is up to the players and the GM. The only agency that has been taken away from characters in this situation is the time during which they were associated with Lowls and the fact that they can't recall much of their past.
That they were sold is certainly an assumption, but it's not the only possible assumption.
