I would make Kirito as a Slayer with two weapons style. He has more Dex than Strengh, but has a good Strengh too, so I don't think Dex to damage is necessary. He use one only weapon as much as two, so make sure to not put everything on the two weapon style, with the styles feats should be more or less enough.
SAO has some really bad moments, much of them on the fairies arc, but I'm really tired of all that "SAO is the worst" mantra.

I should probably give real advise rather than just drive by snarking.
Really given the whole breadth of the show Kirito's primary trait seems to be being able to instantly pick up on whatever skill is needed at the exact moment it needed and then mastering that skill with seemingly no effort. Which sounds a lot like martial flexibility but he doesn't really have the correct weapons to be a brawler. This means that it'd probably be best to go with the Martial Master fighter archetype. You'd invest your mainline feats into the standard two weapon fighting feats (two weapon rend, double slice, slashing grace, etc) then use the martial flexibility feats for whatever issues comes up in the middle of combat. Though advanced warning this requires extensive knowledge of all or at lest a goodly portion of combat feats.
Something else to consider is that Kirito never really wears armor aside from a very small chest piece which is arguably just leather armor with armored vitals. So I'd recommend Lore Warden as a second archetype for general dexterity focus and to try to give and intellectual feel to your combat style.
Also I don't think SAO is the worst. It's just disproportionately popular for its overall quality. It is the Call of Duty of anime. Massively popular while being frustratingly mediocre.
Edit: Also Cut From the Air would allow you to do the deflecting bullet thing from gun gale online, but if you trade out weapon training for martial flexibility you can't actually get it. I'd ask your GM if he'd allow you to acquire weapon mastery feats with martial flexibility but not as permanent feats to represent it replacing weapon training.

The Martial Focus feat would take care of that problem.
