Good Morning, I need some advice:
I am a new Pathfinder DM running RotRL. The party is actually in Thistletop and in a bad situation, maybe someone will die and I don't know how to add new characters to the campaign cause the next books assume that the pcs are the ones who saved Sandpoint of the goblin raid and visited the catacombs of wrath.
The next game will be this night and i need some advice.
P.S. Excuse the grammar and spelling erros, as you can see english is not my native language.

The prisoner thing is a pretty standard way to introduce a replacement PC. The prisoner can be released and immediately take up the fight.
Another thing you can do is to have the dead PC raised through magic by including an item or other way for raising the PC, such as placing a raise dead scroll in some of the loot.
If you don't mind waiting, you can introduce a new PC after the battle of Thistletop has taken place.

I believe letting a player control Shalelu until Thistletop is done is the best option.
It is really easy to add a player at the start of the Skinsaw Murders. Sherrif Hemlock just got back from a recruiting trip from Magnimar to reinforce the guard. He could have ran into an adventurer who was interested in helping Sandpoint. Hemlock could introduce them to the party when bringing the group to the crime scene, saying that you should work together investigating this.

Something else to consider:
If you lose a PC or two, it can hurt their reputation a bit, but you do not need to worry too much about it as long as the townsfolk think of the GROUP as the "Heroes of Sandpoint".
This is one of the occasions when forming a named adventuring group makes sense.. then, if the membership changes, there's less need to worry about the specific PCs.
Really, the only PC who kind of needs to be preserved is
