The Terrors of Technology - Deevotees of Cixyron

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

One of the things I love most about Golarion is that there is a ton of stuff left unwritten. It allows me to expand on things in my games and invent new things to further enrich the game world. A part of the setting that always interests me are the divine being they have and how the interact with their followers and each other. On one of the Pathfinder FB pages I play a little game of creativity where as ask about what kind of character you would make to follow a god. This week I'm looking at Cixyron, Daemon Harbinger of electricity, gunpowder, and poisonous metals.

Sitting at our theoretical gaming table, our GM turns to us and says, "All of the characters must be followers of Cixyron, although they do not need to be divine casters." What character do you make? Who is he? Why has he chosen The Furious Thunder as his patron? In what ways does he further the Daemon Harbinger's goals? Why would he be attracted to this beings doctrine?

Other than alchemist, barbarian (savage technologist), cavalier (musketeer), gunslinger, inquisitor (Black Powder inquisition), investigator (steel hound), ranger (trophy hunter), swashbuckler (musketeer or picaroon), some ideas:

Mercury Brotherhood - psychic (Psychedelia discipline)

Warmongers - characters with one or more of Craft Construct (clockwork soldiers with muskets, cannon golems, etc.), Craft Magic Arms and Armor, and Gunsmithing

Lightning Harvesters - "without magic" is rough in a typical campaign; if in or around Numeria, using parts of the Technology Guide could be helpful

A gunslinger/alchemist multiclass dedicated to not just the use of his favored weapons, but to perfecting them. A person who fashions ever-more efficient means of killing without ever really thinking about the hows or whys... and who, when confronted by bandits using weapons he designed, shrugs and goes, "I can make some for you to hunt them with if you want."

An arms dealer who isn't so much oblivious to the harm he causes as utterly indifferent.

The weirdest thing about Cixyron is... that he's also the patron of electricity... when a musket (his favored weapon) is mostly related to fire :P

At best, give your followers a Lightning Gun (from Occult Bestiary). On the flipside, a Kineticist with Electric Blast would still work. You could get creative by having your Kinetic Blast being "fired" from a pistol (you briefly shape a pistol out of electricity and it shoots out a blast) and your Kinetic Blade shaped like a bayonet attached to a pistol.
