So, I personally think that the Drake Companion rules in the Legacy of Dragons supplement were pretty rad. So rad that I came up with a few archetypes that use those rules. I tried to balance them so that they made similar trade-offs to what the archetypes in Legacy of Dragons did. I suppose the question is whether I was successful in that regard.

Dragon Caller (Unchained Summoner Archetype)
While most summoners use their magic to call upon beings from other planes, a few possess ties to dragons that influences the very nature of their summoning magic. Instead of an eidolon, they possess a strong bond with a drake, and their magic calls forth dragon-blooded creatures instead of outsiders.
Summoned Drake: A dragon caller starts play with a drake companion instead of an eidolon. The drake companion can be summoned with a 10-minute ritual like an eidolon can, and counts as an eidolon for summoner class features and summoner spells. A drake companion does not get evolution points, and can never be modified by evolution points.
This ability modifies eidolon, aspect, and greater aspect.
Summon Draconic Ally: Instead of summoning creatures from the summon monster list, the dragon caller’s summoning spell-like ability summons creatures from the list for the summon nature’s ally spell of the same level. Animals that are summoned with this ability are affected by the half-dragon template. It still follows the other rules and restrictions for the summoner’s summon monster spell-like ability.
This ability alters the summoner’s summon monster spell-like ability.

Wyrm Stalker (Hunter Archetype)
Some hunters bond with drakes, rather than more mundane animals. While allows them to fight together with some of the most unruly creatures in the world, these hunters also find that they are estranged from mundane animals as well.
Drake Companion: A wyrm stalker begins play with a drake companion instead of an animal companion.
This ability replaces animal companion, animal focus, nature training, wild empathy, bonus tricks, second animal focus, speak with master, and one with the wild.
Drake Synergy: At 2nd level, if a wyrm stalker chooses outflank as a bonus feat, she grants the feat to her drake companion. At 3rd level, she automatically grants her teamwork feats to her drake companion. The companion doesn’t need to meet the prerequisites of these teamwork feats.
This ability modifiers precise companion and hunter tactics
Drake Bond: At 4th-level, the wyrm stalker may treat her drake companion like an animal companion for the improved empathic link ability. At 14th level, she may may treat her drake companion like an animal companion for the greater empathic link ability.
This ability modifies improved empathic link and greater empathic link.
Raise Drake Companion: At 10th level, a Wyrm Stalker can affect her drake companion with her raise animal companion spell-like ability as if the drake companion was an animal companion.
This ability modifies raise animal companion.
Master Drake Bond: At 20th level, instead of choosing an animal focus, the warm stalker becomes immune to paralysis and sleep effects.
This ability modifies master hunter.
