I wanted to write up the Au Ra as a race the rules in ARG

Homebrew and House Rules

So i'm a fan of FF14, or I used to be i stopped playing half a year ago or more after getting a little rundown. Anyway playing Pathfinder and I wasn't a huge fan of the Dragon playable races that I saw in core material or 3rd party stuff, or any reptilian creatures therein as PC races so I thought I'd take a bare bones crack at writing up the Au Ra as a PC race.

Fair warning a lot of this is just as I reimagined them from a mechanical standpoint, no fluff.

Au Ra Race
Type: Dragon (10 RP)
Size: Medium (0 RP)
Speed: Normal 30ft (0 RP)
Ability Score: Standard (0 RP)
Standard (0 RP)
Racial Trait: Hardy (3 RP)
Racial Trait: Natural Armor +1 (2 RP)
Racial Trait: Skill Bonus +2 x2 (4 RP)
Racial Trait: Skill Training (1 RP)

Au Ra (RP 20)
Type: Dragon (humanoid, Au Ra)

Size: Medium

Speed: Normal 30ft

Ability Scores: +2 Con, +2 Cha, -2 Dex

Languages: Common, Draconic. If the Au Ra has a high intelligence they can pick between these seven languages as bonus languages. Ignan, Elven, Auran, Aquan, Terran, Dwarven, Sylvan.

Racial Traits:

Hardy: Au Ra gain a +2 racial bonus on saving throws against poison, spells, and spell-like abilities.
Tough Scales: The patches of their body that are covered in scales are very tough. Au Ra have a +1 Natural Armor bonus.

Keen Senses: Au Ra have 60ft Darkvision, and Low Lightvision which allows them to see twice as far as humans in dim light situations.

Sharp Instincts: Au Ra receive a +2 bonus on Perception and Survival checks. These two skills are always considered class skills for a Au Ra.

------------

So what do you guys think, the goal was to keep them within RP 20, so as to keep them as a advanced race and not make them to over powered compared to core races.

I don't know anything about FF14, or any FF, so I can't comment to accuracy to source material.
From a PF perspective, it looks decent for an advanced race, maybe a tad weak even. I see no broken good or bad combos in the traits you have here. I can see some strong paladin builds coming out of this, battle oracle, bloodrager, and a suprisingly sturdy sorcorer.
Throw some good flavor and culture on this and I would play one.

Maybe you could take some inspiration from this.

It's the Final Fantasy version of Pathfinder. They have a different magic system, but their races are mostly the same as standard pathfinder as far as I can tell(newbie here).

Wow that's very insightful, and ironic in terms of how similar my ideas were to this already (I had wanted to do a sexual dimorphism type thing for the two genders as well when it came to ability scores but the ARG didn't really seem to support that, though i guess i could have taken standard twice and assigned the two sets by sex in retrospect.)

Thanks, yeah definitely going to considering the fluff at this point. The Dragon type is so very different, I wasn't expecting it to cost so much but it does have some nice early on benefits like immunity to paralysis and magical sleep effects.
