The question: Can an Alchemist with the Tumor Familiar Discovery take the Improved Familiar Feat?
The reason it's in question: The table listing all available Familiars for the Improved Familiar Feat lists an "Arcane Spellcaster Level" requirement. However, this terminology is not used elsewhere, and the table was created long before many Familiar-related additions were made to the Pathfinder system as a whole, thus meaning that the table is at tremendous risk of being simply outdated.
Note: This is not intended as a thread for people to discuss their own perception of the rule. There have been a ridiculous number of player discussions on this subject, with both sides presenting vague statements from Paizo staff that require substantial conjecture to reach a conclusion specific to this matter. Without a concrete statement from Paizo staff, the question will just continue to be asked again and again with no change in the outcome. The intention of this thread is simply to accrue enough FAQ votes that a staff member will deliver a straightforward answer and finally put the debate to rest.
