Golarion and Science

I have a question regarding the world of Golarion and science, and that is what level of technology is the planet at large at? I'm asking this because someone in a group I am playing in is apparently a physicist ... with 8 Int. Is Golarion at essentially post-renaissance or at some point right before it?

Well Golarion is pretty anachronistic in general and even beyond that each micro-setting in Golarion has its own rules it operates under.

In general I'd say the setting is mostly early-mid renaissance though.
