Help with Multiclass Archetype: Divine Exemplar

Advice and Rules Questions

So, in the description of this Cleric-Paladin-Mix it says:

"At 1st level, and again at 5th level and every four levels thereafter, the divine exemplar receives the powers of one of his deity's domains. If possible, the first domain he selects must be one of his deity's alignment domains. He gains all the granted powers of his domains as a cleric of his level."

How am I to understand that? Do I end up with five domains? Or do I still pick two and unlock single powers every four levels? The first one seems a bit OP, having 2.5 times as many domains as a vanilla Cleric doesn't sound right. But the second option makes even less sense. I gain powers at my cleric level, which wouldn't fit a "get your level 1-power at level 5"-model. Also, after choosing two domains, I have only four powers to unlock, what do I get as the fifth at level 17 then?

I am surely missing something obvious, but I can't put my finger on it. The ruling sounds like I just get 5 domains but that just doesn't seem logical.

Divine Exemplar

It appears to work the first way - you get all the powers associated with a new domain every four levels.

It is a fairly strong ability, but given how severely your spellcasting is reduced (fewer spells per level AND you can only cast domain spells) I don't think that it's necessarily unbalanced.
