We are here to provide an extra option for players to play the game, find GM's or find players for any Society games Online.

* Currently only got character discussions as an extra channel, send me a PM if you feel you are missing some!
* I have added what I think might be important links, if you feel I am missing some, let me know!

I have created ranks for regional coordinators / VC / VL and Venture Agents, if you are any of those, pm me with your forum handle so I can verify it and then give you the much needed rank.

What is the difference between Skype, Teamspeak and Discord?

Skype is easy to use, but lacks in power and versatility (no volume control, poor control over your broadcasting, lackluster text chat options). It's also a resource hog, which is rather relevant if people are using a virtual tabletop program which might be competing for CPU and memory.

Teamspeak and the like are more powerful, with the ability to customize permissions for channels and set up your voice chat exactly how you want it, but has a learning curve and requires a user to either host the chat on their computer (which comes with connection and scaling issues) or rent a webserver (which is obviously not a great option financially).

Discord is.... perfect. It's slightly more setup than Skype, though still much easier to setup than Teamspeak. It uses a web-based server, so there's no issues with connection or rental fee - it can even be run directly from the website, if you're willing to sacrifice some customization power for more ease-of-use. Full, robust multi-channel text and voice support without all the hassle. I just wish I could get my friends using it - all it's lacking is a userbase.

I am going to try and work on getting a bot for the channel that can do the following:

- Post rss feeds of updates / blogs etc
- Do Dice rolls
- Look up scenario's and provide with a link to the Paizo webstore to look it up
- Use the Paizo PRD to look up the spells / feats (possible class links)

If you have any experience in programming a bot or willing to assist, drop me a PM.

Hope to see some people there soon!

Hey, just wondering if you made any progress on your bot for the discord.

Also, the invite link you've posted to join the discord has expired. Maybe you only set a limited time invite?

Does Paizo have an API for this or are you just going to scrape the html and find the relevant link?

Liberty's Edge 5/5 Regional Venture-Coordinator, Online

Paizo itself does not have an API for that data, so you have to look at custom and/or third-party methods.
