Bowling Infusion + Agile Maneuvers

Rules Questions

When using the Bowling Infusion along with a melee form infusion (such as Kinetic Blade), could you use Agile Maneuvers to add your Dexterity modifier instead of your Constitution modifier for the purposes of the Trip attempt?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I took a look at Agile Maneuvers again. It looks like the feat says you can use Dex instead of Str, so it would appear it can't substitute in Dex for other stats (like bowling infusion or hydraulic push).

Hrmm, how about Fury's Fall? Is a trip CMB check the same thing as making a trip attack?

The feat's wording is a bit weird (to be expected since it's super early in the beginning of PFRPG so this stuff was new then), but it seems to be for when you explicit make a trip attack (which you could do by replacing one of your blade full attack with a trip) but not for add on combat maneuvers. It's muddier though.

Would you allow it at your table? I think it's a decent bump for kineticists (and other characters who don't have full BAB and who don't tend to focus exclusively on Dexterity, preferring their prime casting ability scores), since monster CMD almost always scales faster than PC CMB, especially at higher levels taking into account high strength modifiers, size modifiers, and so on.
