*Heads up...i bought/played/studied this game a whole month since i started fabricating my subjective questions, only to develop purity and concrete understanding of the rules/development...Here is my current vicariously truism...
1. Where can i buy the most absolutely up to date revised edition brand new 'Rise of the Runelords' base set?(I have the old set, ugh...discrepancies...)
2. Is the Character Add On Deck necessary for single game play. (I'm a Lone Wolf and am enjoying this!)
3. I want to 'Protect Plastic Cover' my NEW updated cards if so a purchase manifests. ( Any suggestions? )
4. Conclusion: My current cards, even though i am particularly careful, i will use as a reference for 'carrying/transport research'
5. Thank you friends, answer me accordingly and i will be back for more questions...( i have been experimenting, only a month though, soloing and 2 character soloing...i like this game. Make me BETTER! )

1. There were two printings that I know of: One in China, one in the U.S. The second has fewer errata. However, you can purchase Errata decks for BOTH of them at Drivethrucards. (I think that if you buy the base set from the paizo store, you'll get the U.S. print. I believe there's a US flag on one of the side panels of the box top if you have the second print.)
You can also download the free Pathfinder Adventures app for Android and iOS tablets by Obsidian, but some of the cards are actually different from the card game, so it's not a "perfect" replica. However, the video game has the advantage of being easily modified to correct errors, add errata, and make game design changes on the fly.
2. It is absolutely not necessary for play with any number of players fewer than or equal to four.
3. Penny sleeves will take up less space in your box. I use the Ultrapro PACG sleeves because I have no common sense when it comes to managing money. B-)
4. I have no idea what exactly this means.
5. No problem.

1. There are two printed versions of Rise of the Runelords. The first printing was printed in China. The second printing was printed in the USA. Paizo's store sells only second printings (unless you buy from the ding-n-dent). But, you can get the vast, vast majority of the cards for your first printing corrected via the Errata Cards. You can either print the PDF and slip them over top of the erroneous card (see our question 3 below) or order a physical printing of them via DriveThruCards.
2. No. But it does give you some additional cards that aren't in the game otherwise (Crown of Charisma, Deathbane Light Crossbow, etc). Plus, 4 more characters you can play.
3. I (and I think lots of other people) use the Ultra Pro Deck Protectors, Standard Size. You have lots of options for color, even finish, or go with the themed ones. I've seen others mention Dragon Shields, and Mayday Sleeves as well. Penny Sleeves (various companies including ultra pro) are an option, but the card will be "loose" inside the sleeve.
If you sleeve, cutting out the errata PDF and slipping it over the card in the sleeve is a great option.
4. Ok.
5. You are welcome. I hope you become part of the community here and good luck on your adventure.

Penny Sleeves (various companies including ultra pro) are an option, but the card will be "loose" inside the sleeve.
also (weirdly) I've found that Penny Sleeves tend to be fractionally wider, so if you've bought a box-insert (Broken Token or similar), they don't tend to fit as well

2. It is absolutely not necessary for play with any number of players fewer than or equal to four.3.
I would note that this should actually refer to characters, rather than players. If you are playing on your own, it is probably wise to run at least two characters, as there are challenges that can completely stop single characters.
