So, our party consists of a very... Odd... Band of heroes.

We have The Silver Arrow™ - Who has sleeve of many garments and pretty much transforms his clothing to look like the Red Power Ranger. A Bard with serious Archery Skills.

We have an Unchained Summoner - He has an Eidolon and an Animal Companion. The notable one is Pyckle. Why? Piyckle is the greatest animal companion ever, he's a horrifying foot-long wasp. I say terrifying because if I ever saw a foot-long wasp I'd crap my pants.

We have Recke - What can I say about Recke? Recke is a female Dwarf Monk/Cleric follower of Ptah. Recke is a wierd in that she's a Hamatulatsu Monk 1, Eccesiatheurge who left the order after seeing how evil they were and not wanting to turn out like that, and became a Cleric of Ptah while soul searching as she wandered Osirion. It's very weird.

This story focuses on Recke.

So our party is is going through the section with all of the Monks and the vicious Nox. Everything is going pretty well. The party has been acting very tactically.

The GM throws in the fact that the sisters recognize Recke and it is on, as they see her as a traitor... Which she is...

Recke's style of combat revolves around using Flurry of Blows with a Quarterstaff and combining it with Guided Hand. This, in itself, isn't that bad.

This time, however, after the party insisted that they start using consumables got some oil of shillelagh. She oiled her staff in the first round of combat and realized that Shillelagh + Staff + Flurry of Blows = Pretty darn nasty.

Well, the Summoner decides that she's doing so well that he might as well help. Bam. He casts Enlarge Person on her. Now her Shillelagh enabled staff is hitting for something like 3d6+7 damage from the strength bonus form size and her own strength (which wasn't impressive) due to using the staff 2 handed not to mention the extra from the Bard.

For these mooks it pretty much means one shot kills.

Recke turns into an unstoppable™ engine of destruction as she literally wades through Monks like they are extras in a Chuck Norris film.

She comes across Nox and her group. A Hellhound and something else that was there.

Instead of running in, like everyone expected her to, she decides since they are clustered like that, to hit them with Burst of Radiance.

Wham. The group fails. They are blinded and they took damage.

Recke wades in the next round and...

Natural 20 on Nox, the crit confirms. Recke rolls nearly maximum damage resulting in an absolutely sick 46 damage. Nox goes down. The enemies, still blinded, try to move but because they are blind they can't 5 ft and one suffers an attack of opportunity which snaps the hellhound like a twig.

Nox gets back up and manages to crit the Dwarf. Huzzah! The Dwarf is dropped to 1 HP from the attack. The other critter with her gets gunned down by the Bard, the Summoner's Eidolon had already been destroyed sadly.

The problem is that making the Dwarf mad by critting her is probably not the best thing one can do. She flurries on poor Nox. Once more RNJesus decides that our NPC isn't going to live. Nox eats another 30+ damage than eats 19 more damage from the second attack.

She goes down again as the party, wondering how she got up in the first place, beat on her some more. As they realize that her wounds keep closing they decide to pick her up and throw her in the water to let the stream wash her away.

Aside from her one attack she never got another hit in.

The moral of the story is this...

If you ever crit on a giant Dwarf... Make sure you kill it... Because they are bound to be pissed off.

And that is how our party cleared that area.
