Hi everyone.
So, this is something I've always been unclear regarding. I know that, for instance, flying creatures are immune to trip maneuvers, but does this also render them immune to the prone condition? What's the case with climbing and swimming creatures? Let's say some effect requires making a Reflex save, and upon failing this save the target becomes prone. What effect will this have on a climbing, flying and swimming critter, respectively?
Cheers,

Where in the rules is this clarified?
Mostly it's a common sense interpretation of what the prone condition refers to. You can't be flat on the ground if youre 1000 feet in the air or in any other situation where there's no flat ground underneath.
Not everything can be practically micro-managed with rules text.

I don't think it is clarified anywhere
Couple of options spring to mind.
1) simple - apply the penalties of prone - climber has to recover grip, flier is out of control, swimmer starts floundering - until a move action (provoking AoO) is taken to remove the condition.
2) interpretive - fliers are immune, as they are immune to trip, they are likely immune to this effect. Climbers must make a climb check (DC=reflex save DC?) or fall, if they succeed staggered for 1 round. Swimmers? can't decide between 1, immune or further swim check.
