3rd level Urban Druid
Step 1 - Craft Dust of Emulation.
Step 2 - Buy/obtain/steal high level spell scroll (let's say wizard.)
Step 3 - Despite my being a 3rd level Druid, use dust to cast the high-level spell off the scroll.
If I am reading the rules of the Dust correctly, this should work.
Mentally envision the scroll as you apply the Dust; counts as UMD auto-pass to cast off the scroll (class feature emulated = spell list), and the RAW for the Dust says if an exact number matters, it counts as an auto 25 roll (which it DOEES matter to see if the PC can cast a spell higher than their own caster level.)
Seems a GREAT way for lower level PC's to gain access to high level spell effects.

A creature coated with this glittering golden dust can interact with any one item or object as if she had successfully used the Use Magic Device skill to emulate a class feature or race (if the exact result of the check matters, treat the character's result as a 25). If the user of the dust does not mentally select the intended item or object while coating herself with the dust, the magic of the dust applies to the first eligible object she encounters. She can apply the result of this automatic check when dealing with the item or object for 1 hour after exposure to the dust.
Bolding mine. It's only useful for the specific Use Magic Device actions, Emulate a Class Feature and Emulate a Race. Not Use a Scroll, not Use a Wand, Staff, or Other Spell-trigger Item, not Emulate an Ability Score, not Decipher a Written Spell, not Activate Blindly, and not Emulate an Alignment. Just the two very specific uses of UMD, Emulate a Class Feature and Emulate a Race. And Emulate a Class Feature (wizard) does not let you bypass the rules for Use a Scroll. It just lets you use items that require you to be a wizard (for some reason). Honestly, the only thing I can think of is Holy Avenger and Paladins at the moment.
