Does the Ring of Animal Friendship work on Werewolves?

Does the Ring of Animal Friendship work on Werewolves as i'm trying not to kill a werewolf as he may have good alignment but just afflicted and not know what he is doing.

Per RAW the ring only affects creatures of the 'Animal' type while werewolves are 'Humanoid' type creatures with the 'Shapechanger' subtype.

That said, ask your GM. If the werewolf is lost in their animal senses/acting like a wolf then maybe the GM would allow the ring to have some effect. However, that'd be purely an exception/judgment call.

I'm pretty sure the thing doesn't work on lycanthropes.

One: the spell only affects creatures with the "Animal Type." Animals pretty much all have 2 or less intelligence. To this end, any animal with more than 2 intelligence would probably be unaffected by the ring.
