So I believe my friends are erroneous in their ways again and state that you can print out extra loot and cohorts, the same way as mythic paths. A simple search of the word "print" in the rule book comes up with only one real result; for mythic paths.
Their contradiction, at least for cohorts:
"If the scenario you’re playing lists any cohorts, after drawing starting hands, each character may add 1 of the listed cohorts to her hand."
There's nothing that states that you may print out more. I just want to confirm that the only thing you can print more of is mythic paths and you have to share between the cohorts and loot, rather than generate duplicates?

This rule just means that one of your players can't take all of the cohorts. Each player gets 1 of them max. But when they run out, they run out.
An explanation for your friends: Each named NPC you meet doesn't have triplet siblings. Each super awesome loot item doesn't come on a rack with enough duplicates for everyone currently standing in front of it.
Even if the rules don't explicitly forbid printing more cards, it's clearly against design to do so. If you start with loot, what's to stop you from printing more copies of a certain ally you find useful, or a powerful weapon that only comes one per box?

Indeed. The basic mythic paths aren't limited in the same way. Those cards are meant to be references. They don't go in your deck. They don't go into locations decks or the blessings deck or anything. They just sit and tell you what awesome powers you have as a Mythic FillInTheBlank. If you want to have an entire party of six Mythic Tricksters, you can do that. However, due to print sheet limitations, Paizo didn't want to give you six of each path. In order to do that, they'd've had to omit 24 other cards from the WotR base set.
And that, my friends, is why there's a special file available for printing Mythic Paths (which look GREAT stretched to a full 8.5x11 sheet size), and a special statement in the rulebook on p22 that says, "There are two copies of each mythic path card in the box, but any number of characters may choose the same mythic path. Just put the cards you have where any player who has chosen that path can easily refer to them, or download and print out additional copies at paizo.com."
You will find no such file or statement about Cohorts or loot.
