What is the value of a Blessed Book with spells already in it?

Rules Questions

Hi all! My Google-fu has failed, and I couldn't find an answer for this specific question.

I wanted to clarify the calculation for valuing a Blessed Book.

1) Is the value of a Blessed Book always 12,500gp regardless of the spells contained within?

OR

2) Is the value of a Blessed Book 12,500gp + viewing costs for each spell contained within?

OR

Am I completely missing the mark and need to educate myself? =)

Notice I didn't consider writing costs for either due to the nature of the Blessed Book. Any help or insight would be grand!

Thanks and have a great day!

This book is never found as randomly generated treasure with spells already inscribed in it.

It looks like a blessed book wipes itself clear each time it changes ownership (or something).

Captured spellbooks can be sold for an amount equal to half the cost of purchasing and inscribing the spells within.

As there is no inscribing cost, just add half the cost of purchasing the spells within.

I think dragonhunterq's answer to add half the price of each spell in the Blessed Book (as though you were buying a scroll) is a fair way to view it.

I don't believe that the Blessed Book erases itself just changing ownership. I believe the wording is very specific that as a randomly rolled treasure it will be blank. However, if the BBEG happens to have a Blessed Book with lots of spells in it and you defeat him you will have his spells in it.

Ah great thanks to all for replying! Makes me feel better because that's what I've been doing. My player just came into an enormous amount of new spells, and suddenly while doing character audits it became quite clear how much a difference this calculation can make.
