I'm pretty sure I know the answer to these, but I want to be sure before I shut a player of mine down. Your help is appreciated.
1) Can a human druid wildshaped into an earth elemental breathe while earth gliding or do they need to hold their breath?
2) If they have to hold their breath, does natural spell feat allow them to cast spells with verbal components?
3) If casting a summon spell while earth gliding do you need line of effect to where you want your summoned critters to appear?
4) If you do need line of effect, how much of your body needs to be above ground to have line of effect?

1. Elementals do not breathe, so neither.
2. Yes, They can cast spells using verbal components with natural spell feat.
3. You do need to see where you are summoning.
4. Just enough to see the area where they are summoning to.

2) Actually, they only need Natural Spell to cast spells with somatic(due to an earth elemental having a body very unlike yours and not suited to casting, possibly) and material(as you need natural spell to pull material components which are melded into your form). But, earth elementals can speak and thus can use verbal components. As well, earth elementals do not need to hold there breath while earth gliding, so its a non-issue.
If forced to hold their breath due to other effects... they would not be able to use verbal components. A cricket would, since a cricket form would use its scales to produce the verbal component. But an earth elemental would use its voice.
Natural spell does not allow you to say, 'this creature would produce noise from its mouth.. but I want something I can do in a vacuum.'
