Pathfinder Rulebook Subscriber

As a half elf I'm aware I get to pick two favored classes. Can I get one favored class' abilities while I level up a different favored class?

EX
Say I'm playing a half-Elf and Fighter and Gunslinger are my favored classes. At Level 1 I take Gunslinger and opt for +1/4 to grit points. If my next level is in fighter can I continue to get +1/4 grit points because I'm still advancing in a favored class? Or do I have to advance in gunslinger to get that bonus?

Only the FCB for the class you actually advance in is available.
