I just stated playing PACG with the Rise of the Runelords base set. This may be a silly question but I can't find a specific example anywhere in the rule books or the FAQ. When playing cards to aid another player's check, can anyone play cards or only other players in the same location where the check is being made? I believe it only makes sense that players in the same location can play cards to assist a check otherwise Harsk's special power is pretty meaningless. Is that correct?

If a card doesn't specify that it aids someone specific ("You", for example), or characters at a specific location, then you can use it to aid anyone anywhere. What's awesome about Harsk's power is that he can recharge ANY card in his hand, no matter what the text on the card says, and grant 1d4 to a combat check at another location (he can NOT do this for anyone at his own location).
As a side note, when he does this, it doesn't count as "playing" the card, as that involves using a power printed on the card as opposed as using a card to fuel another power on another card (in this case, Harsk's character card).

RotR Harsk works as you say. Class desk Harsk has a role power that allows him to do this for his own location, including for himself. Very cool.

Indeed, but since Termcl specified that he only had the RotR base set, I figured there was no reason to bring up the other two Harsks (yet). B-)
