Me and my friends are making pathfinder approximations of Marvel characters for a super hero style campaign with two of my friends already coming up with faithful adaptations of Captain America and Daredevil. After seeing the cavalier archetype 'ghost rider' I fiind that while some of the archetypes abilities seem appropriate (I.e. Frightful gaze, fearless) the rest of their class features leave much to be desired. Plus cavaliers arent that useful in most conventional combat scenarios. So my question is this: what kind of home brewed traits or creature building would I need to build a faithful adaptation of the comic book Ghost Rider (fire spells, chain weapons, penance stare, flaming skull)?

I might write a drabble for this later as it is a point I have been considering tactling in a book I am writing. The basic gist would be a PrC that combined Ghost Rider with Pyrokineticist. Thus giving you the flaming flavor and full mount progression.
It would really be nice to get my hands on Ultimate Intrigue first since I think the mechanics of a Kinetict Vigilante would serve the concept better.

An imperfect solution for the flaming skull that doesn't restrict you to needing a special race or class would be to fashion a helmet made from bone and slapping Continual Flame on that bad boy. Of course, in terms of flavor, the helmet would be made in the appearance of a skull.
A hat of disguise or some other similar spell/item could be used to make it seem all the more genuine, although from a roleplay perspective, the flames might be enough to obscure the helmet so that it appears as an authentic flaming skull and not just a piece of equipment. A DM may require you to roll Disguise, but considering it's more flavor than anything, I don't see any problems with it.

Well, it is just visual, but when you get down it it is just a more extreme version of the Kineticist's Elemental Overflow.

Thread necro.
I am looking into something similar, but went with another class. While the riding of a spectral horse is cool, I envisioned Ghost Rider as an oracle with the occult mystery. Ectoplasmic Armor could be skinned any way you want it to show off the hellfire. Phantom Touch is stupid powerful, allowing you to make opponents shaken/frightened/panicked. Brain Drain could be used to look into the target's past, causing them damage.
I also like that this opens up some very thematic spells: chain of perdition, bestow curse, etc.
What I am working on now (and wouldn't mind feedback on) is a homebrew curse. Here's my first swing at it:
Possessed:
You broke faith with a devil and it has cursed you with an unnatural life, causing you to live halfway between this world and the next. Whenever you enter into combat or are attacked, you become a skeletal creature (polymorph effect). You are affected by positive and negative energy as if you are undead as well as their ability to not eat, sleep or breathe whil in your undead form.
* Implied in this is that there are no of the other benefits of being treated as undead at this time, such as immunity to bleed, etc
At 5th level, you gain +4 against fear and death effects while in your undead form
At 10th level, you gain +2 on Will saves against enchantments while in your undead form
At 15th level, you are immune to bleed damage and may reroll one failed fortitude save (as an immediate action) once per day. These are only effective while in your undead form.
Thoughts?
