Playing through the new Season of the Runelord adventures, and this one, having no villian or henchmen, seemed really troublesome to succeed at. I felt the whole time like I was missing an additional rule to get through this. Is it just naturally difficult, or am I truly missing something?

Okay, but the last line of the instructions:

To win the scenario, close all of the locations.

That kind of tells you all you need. Also if you read the flavor text, the town doesn't like you. They want you to leave. So you have to go from location to location and close them all. Allies are harder (since they don't like you) and a couple locations are pretty nasty because you have to banish cards from your hand.

Difficult, maybe. But you're not missing anything. It took us nearly the entire blessings deck and you have to do multiple explores when you can.

Ok...just seemed very difficult...we beat it, on the last turn...and i feel it was do to a LOT of luck

It can be difficult to entirely clear out decks for certain characters or groups. It's basically entirely focused on how many extra explorations you can obtain while staying successful against the banes. If you have reliable healing, note that you can bury less helpful cards on allies to make it so your deck is more ally and blessing heavy.

... which we did. And we did it on Allies that has extra explores.

I will say, there is an unfortunate case for very small groups who don't yet have a source of Magic; for example, if you have a solo Merisiel who hasn't upgraded her weapon yet, she can't defeat Shadows and Ghosts unless she happens to find a magic boon at one of the locations. In that case, luck is a definite factor.

But, you do have 2 prior scenarios to find something Magic and in larger groups should have _some_ source of Magic.

And even a B weapon for CD Merisiel will give her Magic capabilities
