Beginners box

Hi I ordered the pathfinder beginners box on sunday the 28th and my order still says that its pending.when I originally placed the order it had said that it would a dive by this sunday the 6th. I am going on vacation next week and I was really hoping that it would come before then. I also sent an email and have had no reply. Can I still expect it by the 6th or no?

Hello Adam,

The Humble Bundle was quite a bit more successful than we were anticipating. We have sold down our stock of the Beginner Box and have ordered a reprint. We currently estimate this to be shipping out to fulfill the remaining orders in early May. Your order is one of the ones waiting for the reprint.

I looked over the confirmation email you were sent and I don't see anything about the order arriving on March 6. I do see that it mentions the authorization will expire on Sunday. The authorization expiring isn't something to worry about. If it does, then when the order ships we will open and immediately finalize a new one. When the order ships is when the charge will go through. So, what this will look like on your end is that what looks like a pending transaction right now will disappear from your bank account when it expires and then a charge will appear when you get the email confirming that your order is on the way to you.


I just want to make sure that I am reading this right.

So I wont receive my order until sometime in may?

Is there a way currently to know if we are on the back order list or not and any idea of the wait. I am patient but just want a general idea of what's happening with my order.

So do we! The amount of Beginner Boxes that the Humble Bundle initiative went through was astonishing and went far beyond our expectations. Having so many Beginner Boxes on backorder is not ideal and we desperately want to fulfill these orders as quickly as possible.

So quick question regarding this: given that so many boxes are on backorder, and shipping costs are on us (not on the Bundle), it appears that the $12.87 transaction on my bank account got cancelled per FAQ "I saw a charge on my account, but now it's gone. What happened?"

When June/July/whenever rolls around and you folks are ready to start pushing these things out, can we assume we'll get some sort of email notification of, "ready to take your payment info again!"?

Hi Dan,

Thanks for your question! In short: that's the plan! We don't have all the details yet, but we should be sending something out to let people know when we receive the restock so that they can expect their payment to be tried again.

Alternately, what some folks have done to avoid waiting for the authorization is to purchase a Paizo.com gift certificate for the amount of shipping, and then apply it to the order. That way the charge can finalize on your card and you can just set the store credit from the gift certificate to wait for the order to be fulfilled.

It's stated above that you expect to be shipping the Beginner boxes in May, however, in another customer service thread, the rep said the "current estimate is that [Paizo] should receive them (from the printer) in June or July".

Can you provide an updated status?

They are still saying the same time frame.

5-6 month wait on something they didnt even remotely prepare for.

Its quite professional of them.

I just wanted to check and see if my Beginners Box is still one of the ones being shipped early this month. I am moving to a different state next month and would really like for it not to be shipped to where I am at now.

We will be shipping the Beginners Boxes out as soon as they get to us, which we are expecting to be later this month. We can change the shipping address on your order any time until it ships. Send us an email at customer.service@paizo.com with the new address or call us at 425-250-0800 between 10am and 5pm pacific time Monday through Friday and we can get it changed for you.
