Henchmen or Minions of a White Dragon

Advice

I have an adult white dragon lairing in an abandoned ancient temple inside a mountain top. What kind of creatures might he have as his underlings, if any? Perhaps some kobolds revere him and willingly do his bidding. But I prefer the idea that he has some more feral beasts trained to guard his home. Any ideas?

A couple of Frost Giants would be cool. They see the dragon as a spiritual entity and are fiercely loyal.

Or maybe the dragon has subjugated a tribe of yeti that the party may be able to liberate.

Scarab Sages

Maybe add a Remorhaz as well. Having a loyal source of fire damage is a defense not expected by white dragon hunters.

Brown mold blooms protecting important places the dragon wants extra secure as a sort of passive guardian. He has his minions "feed" it from time to time with tossed torches or flasks of burning oil.

Ice Troll mercenaries working in exchange for tasty humanoids to eat.

Grand Lodge

it all depends on the Level

Kobalds
Gnolls
Trolls
Yetis
Ogres
Duegar
Elementals
Planer Bounded entities
Wyverns
younger dragons

So many options.

I think the obvious thing is to have other creatures that dwell in cold mountain tops. Someone mentioned frost giants and yeti, two obvious choices. Others might include frost drake, ice linnorm, ice troll, etc.

But did I mention that this was obvious?

I think evil dragons are just as likely, perhaps more likely, to have slaves who serve in fear rather than loyal followers. Who fears white dragons the most? Anything with cold vulnerability (which usually means fire subtype), so go with fire giants instead of frost giants, etc. Or go with azers or some other fire subtype creature.

These serve in fear because the white dragon can kill them so easily.

(which also opens up the possibility for the PCs to get some of these creatures to change sides in the final battle)
