Armor enchantments for a Ranger

Rules Questions

Hello. Right now I have a PC with a very high Dexterity thanks to a belt of Physical Might (and I allowed a Ioun Stone of Dexterity +2 to stack as it's a home game).

His Dexterity is 28. Problem is, his mithril chain shirt only allows a max dex bonus of 6.

As per the rules, I was wondering if there's any armor enchantment that would allow a higher max dex bonus to his Mithril chain shirt?

Liberty's Edge

Nope. But Celestial Armor allows a +9, has a +9 armor modifier of its own and is, for what it does, very reasonably priced at 22,400 gp.

Hmmm. Well, this is for a home game, and I know the player likes not having an armor check penalty. So, after some quick math, I created a +3 Celestial chain shirt.

Yeah, that'd work. It should probably be cheaper by 4-5k or so (based on how the difference between light and medium mithril armor works), but that should be fine.

Actually it's only a difference of 3000gp. I sure hope the player likes it. It is, after all, a special type of custom armor. He's picky about things like this.

Yeah, but Celestial makes it light even for proficiency purposes, so it's better than mithril...but not on armor that's already light. Still, 1-2k won't make all that much difference.
