Monstrous Companion Feat Fix?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Has anyone at pazio considered doing a redone or reworked version of the monstrous companion feat? the feat itself is very neat and allows for a druid to gain a greatly varied follower from their usual animal companion. However, this feat is not very clear, and it is hard to determine the cohort levels for monsters. I feel that a bit of work could do wonders in clearing up this feat and making itmuch more straightforward. Maybe just a longer list with all of the options on the page slated into cohort level columns? or a guide to determining cohort levels for monsters? Id love to have a manticore companion following my druid around as his cohort/companion gaining class levels, but I cannot tell where he fits onto the table, and the advancement is very slow

Scarab Sages

A single example of how a high level character calculates his companion abilities would be amazingly helpful. As it reads, I think leadership is easier and better - but I could be wrong as the rules are unclear.

There is a table in the back of every bestiary that has the ECL for selected monsters from that book. If the one you want isn't on that list, you'll have to guesstimate.
