How are spells affected when you craft magical armor?

Could you use a scroll instead of a actual spell?

For exsample: the Zombie Skin Sheild acquirers animate dead to make it but do you need the spell or is a scroll just fine?

To create the magic item you need to be able to have the requisite spell cast during the creation of the item. A scroll works, so does hiring the spell casting services of another wizard. So long as you have the requisite feat to create the item, you can acquire the spell casting through other means.

"Most of the time, they take the form of spells that must be known by the item's creator (although access through another magic item or spellcaster is allowed)."

Edit: Keep in mind that this might count as you not meeting a pre-requisite. Thus:

You can substitute knowing the spell when creating magic items.

1. Find a friendly spellcaster and let him supply it while you craft. Once per day, for as long as it takes to craft the item
2. Get a Wand/Rod/Staff/Scroll to cast the spell yourself. Once per day. Beware of running out of charges/scrolls.
3. Compensate with skill, by raising the Spellcraft DC by +5 due to not fulfilling a requirement. (No, possession of the actual Crafting Feat can NEVER be compensated for)
