I've recently made a summoner with an Angel Eidolon that uses a spear, and my question is, do Eidolons start with Simple Weapon Proficiency? I will admit, this is a stupid question, and I think the answer is no, the main reason I ask is because of the main guide I read, only talked about the feat tax to pick up Martial Weapon Proficiency, and never mentioned the Weapon Training Evolution.
Weapon Training (Ex): The eidolon learns to use a weapon, gaining Simple Weapon Proficiency as a bonus feat. If 2 additional evolution points are spent, it gains proficiency with all martial weapons as well.
This evolution exists and nothing else is mentioned, so no, they don't start with any proficiency beyond their natural weapons.
Unless it is specified that they get this evolution at the start, like Azata Eidolons (who get martial).
Okay, that is what I was thinking. I have no clue what was up with that guide then, but the person who made it must have gotten it wrong
