Given that there are already loads of Rise of the Runelord Campaigns going on (the one Adventure Path for which I have the whole set), and am already running an Emerald Spire campaign, I wanted to GM for a group that really wanted to play something different.

There's just a few minor caveats to my offer as to what campaign I'd accept:

- No Mythic or Gestalt rules.
- Campaign idea must take place in Golarion's Campaign Setting.
- Starting Level no higher than Level 5.
- Four players, and allowance for a GMPC, I'll build mine to cover whatever gaps I see in the group.
- Paizo Published Products only.

ok, little confused here, are looking for a GM? or are you offering to GM?

If the latter, I always wanted to play either Wrath of Righteous (but you said no Mythic)

also I like to try Jade Regent but I understand that one is difficult to get started and maintain interest as the opening book does not have much in the way of motivating the players. (at least from what I have seen)

anyway, just asking cause I am interested.

I'd be up for doing pretty much anything

Price of immortality which i can never seem to get in would be fun

Jade regent was actually my first campaign i was in, although we didn't get very far or do much .

I have a friend who probably would be interested in joining as well.

@Edward, this is my main account, I post under alias for campaign recruitments when i get an idea.

I'm offering to GM.

I don't own Jade Regent, but I do own Parts 1-3 of Skull & Shackles. I'm also willing to homebrew stuff so long as it is set in Golarion.

Well i'll inform my friend, then, he has been waiting for a skulls and shackles thing.

Said friend speaking. I'd be up for most games I think. But S&S is one I've wanted to try for a while. I even have a PC ready to go for it, just need to de-gestalt. I'm open for other games as well too, of course.

Ive been part of a couple flop groups that were really well established save one or two players and maybe a missing gm. I could shoot out a few messages to see if they're still looking. What do you think Ed? You were part of one of those.

you could try. but I will not be playing Terra.

Lol of course not. I just remember that we had pretty good chemistry to begin with.

I'm not part of an established group but would be quite thrilled to join a homebrew campaign if possible. I've been a fan of some of the pbp but would enjoy seeing what playing alongside an established group would be like in it. I'm a part of several at table groups so I know how to work well with others.

Well, there are five of us here. I hear possibilities of S&S and a homebrew. I would love to hear a homebrew idea if you already have one, as Pacing tends to hold up better on well thought out ones as opposed to AP's in pbp.

If you're looking for ideas, you could work with the bare bones of Skull and Shackles to have a hybrid homebrew that isn't as long and maybe has your own take on the high seas woven in. Also, I've toyed with this idea before: Cayden Caliean basically got drunk one day and woke up a God. What if he commissioned a group of adventurers to finally go uncover what really happened that night and fix something he may or may not have cosmically screwed up.

Grand Lodge

A hybrid of Skull and Shackles that branches into more homebrew around the second and third books could work.

there are five of us so just about any idea could work, using skulls and shackles as a base and then branching out from there could be an awesome idea

I'm game

im game as well

Game I'm.

As am I, just tell me the requirements you wish and I will be more then happy to make based on such. Though if we do a skull and shackles and move out from there, then most likely the party will be neutral at best but most likely evil...so if you're cool with that then hazzah.

Well, the character I have planned is LE*, atm. If that's not allowed, I can think of something else.

*LE stands for "most co-operative Evil"

sweet, i'll right something up after work, we shall see what i can come up with

Silver Crusade

{Ammon here}

I got a lore warden fighter, eventually gonna take 2 levels of mindchemist. Basically his role is knowing things, combat manuevers, and some amount of melee combat. Basically he is non magical smart guy.

backstory:

Growing up in Arcadia, as an orphan. I was taken by the military, specifically I was sent to the knights academy; the vanguard of my village. Normally we scout out and clear the trading routes to the other villages on the other end of the continent, the only other known settlements...
It was soon after joining the academy that I met Kiera, the elven woman who would become my best friend and mentor. Strong and fast, Smart and beautiful.

Recording her “Statistics” was something I had avoided doing for years. After all she was my friend, why would I ever need to know her weaknesses. My guess was some part of me knew I could never give her a biased recording, to much emotion getting in the way. As I put my pen to paper, the door swung open.

“Garidan what are you doing? We have a mission”called familiar silvery voice of Kiera, she was the only person in the village I could stand. She was beautiful, but I never told her: hair and eyes the color of ice, and a honest heart unlike my own. She held the same passiveness I learned to love over the years.

“Just recording a few things, knowledge is power after all.” I shut my book, put on my my red and gold robes, bracers and gloves. I grabbed my traveling gear, I turned expecting to see Kiera waiting, only to see her reading my book.

“Your finally getting to recording me I see.” she smiled, I blushed snatching the book from her. She always loved teasing me, I guess that's why I never told her... she already new.

“Let's go” She lead me out of my room and down the hall of the academies living quarters, we passed Arkus and his band of Orcs . They were part of the academy as well, however they were knights. The academy was separated into different organizations, Kiera and I were part of the Paladin sect which operated as the vanguard of the village. Arkus and his band part of the knights, the main force of the military. The two sects never got along, both vied for praise among the villagers.

“Hey look fellas, it's the shining knight and her honor-less mutt” Arkus snarled, the others laughed. Kiera gripped my hand tightly and shook her head.

“Ignore them” she whispered pulling me forward. I slipped out of her grip, walking over to the band.

“You know Arkus, your right I am honor-less” I pretended to accidentally drop a vial in between them, “You wanna hand that to me Arkus” He grabbed the vial, crushing it in his hand, “Oh well” I smiled turning around to rejoin Kiera.

As we continued down the hall, “What was in that vial” Her voice took a harsher tone.

“Nothing you should worry about”, It was a vial containing a poison, enough to get them sick and hurting but not enough to kill. I smirked, I could hear coughing from them already.

“you can't be doing that, you will end up hurting someone” She shook her head in disappointment, nothing I hadn't gotten used to. Arkus and his group deserved what i gave them, bullies the lot of them, they think they can just pick on people all I do is give them a taste of their own medicine.
We reached the general's office, I waited in the hall as Kiera retrieved the papers for our assignment. We were to secure one of the trade roads, there were reports of attacks on them. We reached the area by nightfall, there was a clearing signs of attacks, ransacked carts nothing I hadn't expected. The area suddenly was lit aflame, I couldn't past the fire and shadows, javelins flew out of the darkness.
“Run Garidan! Now” She was serious, She drew her shield and longsword. I listened... I turned tail and ran through the forest leaving her behind like a coward...one of the few times I chose to listen. I ran back to the village, found it on fire to. Kiera was one of the best fighters in the village, I one of the weakest.
I didn't help anyone, I quit being a paladin, I wasn't worthy. Kiera had died that day, so did everyone else except me...I ran. I Left for one of the nearby villages, and caught a boat who knows where I just hoped it was far away.

In short his reason for being around is to get away from his past right now, He is doing so by absorbing himself in his studies and is exploring local ruins and such

Appearance and personality:

Garidan wears a chain-mail shirt underneath his clothing, a black shirt and a red scarf. He keeps a small locket with the picture of a woman on his person. Blond hair and grey eyes.

Garidan personality wise is kind of a smart ass. He is used to being alone and has little experience making friends as most people dislike him are put off by his rather blunt attitude. He's honest to a fault, he doesn't lie to make people feel better, he tells them things they may not want to hear. He keeps many journals on himself for the purpose of recording data, he can be kind of obsessed when it comes to recording these statistics. He does so as it helps him gauge difficulty and find weaknesses in friend or foe.

Everyone loves a hero. They cheer for them, scream their names, and years later they'll tell how they stood for hours in the rain just to get a glimpse of the one who told them to hold on a second longer. I believe there's a hero in all of us, that's why people need to learn to rise to the occasion and fight for themselves become their own heroes. I won't fight their battles for them, i'll help if their's something in it for me but saving individuals isn't my priority destroying the greater evil is.

Hmm, I know that people are probably working on hard on their character ideas but could I get a low down from everyone on what they are planning on playing for role wise so I kinda know what needs to be filled in?

I have a few ideas but I'd need to know Gun availability before I can start writing. Just so I know how many levels I need to waste in Gunslinger before I get both of the useful class features.

Here's the level 1 version of the character I mentioned. She can supply some real ranged damage, and the Inquisitor levels that will follow at some point will add face capability and other utility as well.

EDIT: I'm open to some other ideas as well, I just happen to have this one premade.

Bolt Ace archetype Gunslinger only.

Also, I realize what I forgot to include last night, Hit Points, so I'll put it here now.

Maximum Hit Points according to hit die obtained at each level.

Oh, that's what that meant. My bad, I was confused by the mention of Magus. I think I get it now.

I don't really know if I'm all that interested in a pirate campaign without guns to be honest.

EDIT: I do have an idea for an alchemist on back-up. Are you okay with almost completely human looking Half-Orcs? Save for the teeth of course.

And possibly a Mesmerist.

well here is what I got.

but I need to make a few changes (race will be a demon spawn Tiefling)

So I see these ideas so far:

Edward: Sorceress
Smashomancer: Gunslinger OR Alchemist (Maybe Mesmerist)
Ammon: Lore Warden
Vincent: Undecided/looking to fill.
Ace: Fill
Primary GMPC: Not revealed.

The characters I'm floating right meow are:
A Leader like Warpriest (Probably a Tengu, odd as it may seem)
A skillmonkey, sneaky bastard Unchained Rogue (What is your stance on old archetype for the new class? namely knifemaster)
An out of the box support character
And I can crap out a Swashbuckler in like five minutes. Favorite class.

So Basically I'm calling fill, I'll cover a big hole or add frontline pressure.

I plan on multi into bard as well

okay so by the looks of things we need a sneaky sneaky, some divine protection, and some more frontline action.

Nah, no gunslinger for me. I'll be working on the Alchemist I mentioned previously, unless the Mesmerist draws my attention some more. Although I could build him as a Natural Attack Bloodrager just as easily depending on what we want more of. I'd be adding Melee either way. I'd also like to play a Daring Champion Cavalier, but Kobold isn't on the allowed race list.

Edited for fullness.

Hmm...so If I am seeing right....we have a buffer/spell slinger?, and two front liners yes? I'm not fully digging being a healer (Done a lot of it at table) but if you don't want to Ace, I can come up with something for that role...otherwise I think I'm looking at a ranger to bring in some ranged support to the group...lest you think there might be a better slotting spot that isn't filled.

I think the possibility of no-one wanting to heal was why a GMPC was suggested. Although, both Alchemist and Bloodrager can help with that.

I think that ranged combat is also a big thing we need covered, more so than healing anyway. Their are other ways to cover healing.

Grand Lodge

Don't worry too much about any/whatever gaps you may have. I'll build the GM PC to fill what's needed, just keeping in mind it may be difficult to fill all open roles if everyone else is a melee beefstick :P.

Okay i was talking it over with Smashomancer and Garidan will be mainly unchained rogue instead of Lore Warden, 13 skillpoints per level i think it's fair to say i am our skill monkey, not party face though...that would end up badly... I'll get more skills when i taken mind chemist but yea, it seems to be a straight upgrade for what i am doing.

And on that note, I will be choosing between either:

  • A Tengu Mesmerist. Adds a back-up Melee fighter, some debuffs the sorcerer and any other caster will enjoy, and some face skills for speaking. I also like the symbolism of the raven for a Mesmerist.

  • A summoner I had in mind recently, would you want to discuss that here, or in a PM, Ms. Pleiades?

The Alchemist I decided against on the grounds that both melee characters should not have a weak will save. It will likely result in dead times.

  • Ugh, my brain is right killing me at the moment and I'm hitting writers block pretty heavy.

I'll probably just go ahead and recycle this alias and try to come up with a good backstory. Looking at doing a regular Tiefling Ranger (Trapper, Wild Hunter). I'll try to write up the whole profile tomorrow. Main points are... 14 Str, 17 Dex, 14 Con, 14 Int, 14 Wis, 5 Cha. So I won't be much of a talker, but I'll be able to help out a bit with traps later levels and taking the group as my animal companion instead of an actual companion. (Got some terrible hella looking scars and such O.o)

I know the feeling. I spent all day narrowing my way down to these two completely different classes from the ones I started with. Interested in freebooter? It's the pirate archetype, even. You get a slightly better team version of Hunters Bond as well.

Yea...no definitely switching to that. instead of Wild Hunter. That's basically the stalker advantage given to the party. How have I never seen you before you beautiful archetype.

Alright...I believe I have a decent backstory and such. Not the best, I may revise it a bit here and there but let me know how you feel about it. [Vincent Fleming's offering to the table]

in that case I'm gonna cook up a support type character. Keep in mind that I'm not gonna be a Heal-y type priest or necessarily a heavy healer. Think more like the Braum or Blitzcrank type support ;) In fact I literally am thinking of having a shield user with some magic ability and calling him Braum.

I might as well throw the ideas around here as well as my head since I'm not getting anywhere. which do people think they would enjoy more?

  • Kek-ra De Lanzarote. The Tengu Mesmerist. He'll be a relatively lax easy-going kind of guy, who's biggest asset (other than brain controlling and giving out bad juju) is his ability to lie to people in multiple languages.

  • Akkad of the Ancient. The Half-Elf Summoner. Giving out flanking buddies for anyone who wants one, he puts himself first, but considers the quality of life of those around him as a reflection of himself, and his ability to lead.

  • I would say that the face of the group should most certainly not be the GM PC, just something that would irk me. So between you or Ace having someone with good charisma is a good idea.

That said, I know nothing of Mesmerist but I do know summoners to a degree so I would tend to look towards the summoner...even if he's more out for himself then others.

Hey Ace, why not play Tikkle again. I am sure Sasha would like a kitty cat

are we using Drawbacks for a third trait?

I agree. Skill-heavy GM PCs can tend to be troublesome.

    No.

I agree on the face notion, but I can spend my traits on the Summoner for Diplo. and bluff as class skills. Or have the Eidolon do it. The Mesmerist looks like it brings some neat team-support focused debuffs to the table. Looking at what everyone else is bringing, I think we just need someone who can keep us going, or put some Ranks into UMD for wands. I don't think I'll have the skill ranks leftover for that unfortunately, but a Mesmerist can remove certain mind affecting conditions with a class ability, so I can help at least.

Also, I hope you don't mind my saying, but when I was looking at everybody to help decide, I noticed Sasha is rocking a 31 point-buy.

EDIT: I think I've settled on the Mesmerist at this point. I just like the character concept too much. And he'd work well with a group. Would an Urumi fall under the category of swords for Sword-Trained? I'm just checking out my options for weapons.

EDIT SPREE: Also, if I were to use a Bastard sword, would I get "Full" proficiency, or just the martial two-handed only variety?

Sasha is not proper adjusted for this game.

that is an old character sheet so do not go by what is in that alias.

I threw her up there cause the back story is what I wanted to submit first. working on the crunch still.
