Command Undead Feat for non clerics?

Rules Questions

I noticed that the Command Undead feat, as written in the Pathfinder SRD, bases its DCs off of the user's cleric level?

As written, does that mean it doesn't work for non-clerics that take it? Obviously this is not RAI for things like Juju Oracles.

Has there ever been an official rule update on this, or is it just up to GMs to fix?

Anyone?

Necromancer wizards can gain the Command Undead feat as one of their first level options. The description doesn't explicitly say so, but the implication is that they use their wizard level rather than their cleric level.

I would think an antipaladin could also qualify for the feat, since "he uses his level as his effective cleric level" for channeling negative energy.

The question was not if others can qualify for the feat, but if they can use it? Like I said in the OP, Oracles of the JuJu mystery get it, but it doesn't say anything about using their oracle level in place of their cleric level. Same thing for necromancers, etc.

I suppose that comes up then on just how RAW one decides to interpret it. A robot parsing the text of Command Undead and the Power over Undead ability would answer that the Necromancer can't use it, because while the ability provides an alternate save, it never mentions using one's wizard level as one's cleric level. That, then, would make that option useless, which makes no logical sense.
I suppose, though, to answer your original question, there hasn't been a rule update on it (or one I can recall that would apply to it), so it's up to the GM to determine the intent. I'd say I'd be amazed to see any GMs rule otherwise...but I've seen a lot on these boards.

Power over Undead (Su): You receive Command Undead or Turn Undead as a bonus feat. You can channel energy a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Intelligence modifier, but only to use the selected feat. You can take other feats to add to this ability, such as Extra Channel and Improved Channel, but not feats that alter this ability, such as Elemental Channel and Alignment Channel. The DC to save against these feats is equal to 10 + 1/2 your wizard level + your Charisma modifier. At 20th level, undead cannot add their channel resistance to the save against this ability.

So your DC is based on your wizard level, you just can't command more than 0 HD of undead, because that's based off your cleric level.

Any reasonable judgment would suggest that your oracle/wizard/whatever level would be considered your 'effective cleric level,' though.

There's an absolutely huge post by SKR about halfway through this thread that indirectly answers your question.

The answer being: obviously, non-clerics use the class level of the class that gave them the feature.

Ugh, I loathe how condescending SKR is. Guess I'll go read it anyway.

Yeah, about what I expected. Use common sense. Was just curious if there was an official rules update for stuff like PF society.

Believe it or not, PFS is also allowed to use common sense rulings. Pathfinder is not a tight enough system for it to function otherwise.
