Are you considered mounted while riding vehicles?
-This question is really unclear as far as I can tell and is important for a build I'm trying
While riding in a light chariot pulled by your animal companion, can you use things like mounted combat?
-Even if the answer to the first question is yes, you might not be mounted on your animal companion. However since it requires a ride check to direct the mount, I don't see this as being any different then directing them while in a chariot.
Appreciate answers that are RAW, but if none are available I'll defiantly consider RAI and opinions and take it up with my GM.

Although I can't provide clear RAW, I going to say yes because of the "Mounts and Vehicles Table" lists a cart/wagon under "Mount".
Plus under the Overland Movement sections in the PRD it says:
"See Table: Mounts and Vehicles: Mounts and Vehicles for mounted speeds and speeds for vehicles pulled by draft animals."
It doesn't say driver or rider so I would believe "mounted" applies to anyone on a cart or chariot.

I strongly suspect that such things are never spelled out in the PF rules. Mounted combat is a mess. Vehicular combat, whether from chariot, wagon or raging juggernaught is scarcely even dealt with, and certainly few thoughts are given to feat interactions.
This is something you'll need to work out with your DM. There are some basic rules about driving a vehicle, IIRC you need Handle Animal and/or Profession (driver) to do any tricky stuff, so let's hope you didn't tank WIS. <g>
