The enlightenment and rebirth psychic disciplines in Occult Origins do not have a mechanic to recover phrenic pool points.

All other psychic disciplines published appear to have such a mechanic, including the disciplines in Occult Adventures and Occult Realms.

This seems like an unintended design/development oversight. Please FAQ this post and hopefully we'll get a fix.

This is not true. Abomination and Psychedelia do not have a mechanic to recover phrenic pool points. Probably not coincidentally, they also each have a method to increase their spell DCs temporarily by +2, so I think this is a balancing point for otherwise powerful discipline abilities. Rebirth has by far the most powerful discipline ability (mnemonic esoterica), but I'm not sure why Enlightenment missed the boat here.

Rebirth and Enlightenment are unique in having to spend phrenic pool to activate some discipline abilities. The Rebirth ability is pretty powerful. I'm again not sure why Enlightenment got hit here.

Caveat: I haven't seen Occult Realms yet.

Cross-posted from the other thread: Occult Origins wasn't my team's project, but Occult Adventures was. In fact, abomination and psychedelia don't have such a mechanic.

Mark, thanks for your reply. Somehow I missed that abomination and psychedelia don't have a phrenic pool recovery method; I should have read more carefully. Mea culpa.
