Hi there, Good evening:
I am directing Way of the wicked, and i am about to start the second book, the Horn of Abbadon. My questión here is. Once they have secured the Horn of abbadon, but before they start the ritual, while they prepare the dungeon, my players may like to summon something, but not necesarily a devil. Hell hounds, hell cats, and this short of things could come.
My idea is to let them do, the only thing is how could they summon this kind of things. Would they be conjured with an spell like Lesser Planar Binding or things like that? Summons monster is not very apropiate if you want to have a monster wandering in the dungeon protecting something or somewhere.
Somehthing else, for the people that has directed this adventure, i thought about side questing a little bit in Caer Bryr, to let tham have chances of getting some mounstrous npcs as minions or cohorts, just in case they want to have them. Do you think it is apropiate? I think there should not be any problem do you?
Thank you a lot for the answers.

Room 2-21 in the Horn, the Hall of Murals, has rituals that let players permanently summon various fiends. One of the rituals specifically summons hell hounds. Just add in new rituals and decide how much they would cost.
Letting them sidequest and gain minions in the Caer Bryr is fine. The book even actively encourages doing so, such as by capturing wild animals to put in the caves.

Thank you a lot, but I was planing when I talked about some minions, like powerful monsters or humanoids, that they may then take with leadershiip, or just let them die in the Horn of abbadon. Creatures like trolls, Giants, Kobolds, Hobgoblins, Goblins, A female ogre and so on.
About the devils is a good idea. Or that or a sidequest involving the Old inhabitants of the horn, whose names i don´t remember now.
Anyway thank you a lot for your answers
