My Own Paladin Code

Advice

So I'm creating a Chosen One Paladin in case my Rogue ever bites the dust in a Rise of the Runelords campaign I'm in and I'm trying to create a Paladin Code for this ranger's apprentice turned Paladin.

His backstory is that his folks and his village were massacred by a band of Orcs after they accidentally totaled an Orc holy place while trying to erect a Windmill but was able to evade the orcs for long enough to be found by a Ranger who took him in and trained him to be like him. Eventually he finds in his wanderings an animal out of place that takes a shine to him (said animal becoming his Emissary Familiar and an Agathian Silvanshee in disguise).

I'd love to make it a bit of a mix between a Paladin's Code and a Druid's love of nature. Problem is I've never played a Paladin before. Anyone with more experience that could tell me a thing or two?

Scroll through the neutral good, lawful neutral, and lawful good deities here. Some of them have paladin codes on their individual pages (click the name to see each of their individual pages). These are what paladin codes look like, and this is a guide for how restrictive they should be. I'd personally look at the Erastil code as a guide.

I should also mention I plan for the Silvanshee to be working for an Agathian Empyreal Lord.

You might look into getting a copy of the Quintessential Paladin II, it has a great section on designing paladin codes.

Going to go a wee bit off topic but I've got something else on my mind. I'm wanting to give him Stealth as a class skill and survival (just so I can put one point in survival and be done with it). Would it be better to grab two traits to get em, or replace the human Skilled racial ability with Practiced Hunter?

Traits, as a paladin you are going to need more class skills.

Ya, that's what I've been thinking. With being a human and putting my favorite class bonus into skills I should have 4 skill points a level (since I have 10 intelligence).
