I really liked the setup in Avengers and New Avengers.
I'm not particularly impressed by anything I've seen on the Battleworld, though the actual Secret Wars series isn't bad.
Nor am I looking forward to the new, completely incoherent universe that's going to follow.
The whole Illuminati/incursion plot line was one of the best things I've read in mainstream comics in years though.

Well, yes, the whole of Hickman's run has been awespme imo. As for battleworld, I've enjoyed: 1872, weirworld and marvel zombies quite a lot. Renew your vows was quite great too although bittersweet considering we are going back to normal continuity soon and they'll just erase Annie and the marriage again.

Yeah, a mess. The delays on a lot of the books didn't help the overall feeling of useless short lived storylines.
There were about two titles I enjoyed, StarLord and Kitty Pryde and Ultimate End. The rest were "eh" at best.

Well... to each his own I guess, because I found SL & KP pretty shallow and ultimate end to TRULY be an inchoerent mess, where Bendis got to do whatever he wanted DESPITE the overhall storyline (so Bendis as usual I guess... the guy who does whatever he can to skrew continuity and previous characterization to suit his ends).
As for Secret Wars (the main book) being inchoerent I don't see that at all. The story is well built, logical and flows perfectly. Of course it had delays (probably because it sold so well they decided to give it an extra issue) but it's a joy to read, imo.

I enjoy Bendis writing and I enjoy StarLord and Kitty Pryde as characters. As for Ultimate End, the last issue hasn't come out yet. The concept is pretty interesting and while it so far hasn't made a contribution to the overall arc of Secret Wars, I liked the character moments.
As for the main Secret Wars book, it's pretty good. The incoherent mess are the gazillion tie-in books which are mostly about showing some four-issue alternate scenario which will never be mentioned again after the event, same as the characters introduced there. It's the epitomy of time-eating meaningless dross. And, yes, that includes StarLord and Kitty Pryde and Ultimate End, only that they are better written than the rest.

I've actually really enjoyed several of the tie-ins. Yeah, they won't have any long-lasting consequences, but a good story is a good story. Plus, I don't actually have to read fifteen different titles to follow the main event storyline. I wish all cross-title events were set up like that.

I like the nice, self-contained side arcs. I can read Star-Lord and Kitty or A-Force or Days of Future Present or Carol Corps and know they'll be a nice 3-5 issue story and not have to worry about the main event story. You don't have to read them, but if they look interesting, pick them up.
I actually wish DC's convergence had done 4 issue mini stories instead of the 2 issue teasers which kept me wanting more. Especially as that one let us go back to classic characters not in the current continuity. I love me some Question.
I am ready to get back to normal Marvel though.

My opinion hasn't really changed. The lead up was awesome. Battleworld was stupid in concept, though some stories managed to overcome that. The Secret Wars series itself was pretty good, though I need to reread it now that I've got it all.
I'm not looking forward to the long term consequences to continuity of mashing everything together. That'll take years to play out and probably lead to more reboots down the road. Like the original Crisis did, back in the day.
None of the series I've been following have really addressed how the merging worked. Miles-Spiderman is in one of the Avengers titles and everyone seems to know of him and take him as a given, but it hasn't gone into why or what his connection to Peter is. I assume that's being done in the actual Spidey titles, if anywhere.
Squadron Supreme has a bunch of last survivors of their worlds, who all know what happened, but they're all individual survivors with no links to the new earth. Nothing from their worlds got merged in. It's not even clear whether this Hyperion is the same Hyperion who was with the Avengers during the Incursion storyline.

So, rom what I understand, Miles Morales is now the normal Spiderman (having escaped to the normal Marvel Universe with some of his family and friends) and Peter Parker taking a backseat.
Did they repair the damage they did to Spiderman, or is my boycott of SM still ongoing?
AKA...is Peter Parker back with MJ, are they married again, now that Peter Parker is no longer front and center.
What exactly did they do with PP and did they resolve anything with his storyline?

There's certainly still a Peter Parker Spider-man title, so I don't know how much he's taking the backseat. He's running a company and posing as his own bodyguard, in the old Iron Man style.
Not married to MJ though.

And now ParkerTECH is a thing. Does this mean that Parker is up for the title of Scientist Supreme?
Does anyone else remember when that referred to the head of AIM, instead of some idiotic cosmic concept? Hank Pym?? Really?

But the real question is who remembers when it referred to Yandroth?
