If you fail to defeat the Demonling, it says you move to a random location. If you fail to defeat the Demonling that is summoned when encountering Fihralaz, do you move to a random location and does that prevent you from defeating Fihralaz?

Nope; you still have to / get to resolve the encounter you started with Fihralaz.

Once a character has encountered a bane, the encounter continues regardless of the location the character is at. (The relevant "At this location" powers are the powers of the location the character is at.)

Theoretically, if I fail the combat check against the Demonling, would you move to a random location after resolving everything else?

You move as soon as you fail against the demonling. Then you continue your encounter with Fihralaz from your new location.
