Maze Tapestry at the Maze

Rules Questions and Gameplay Discussion

My brain is still having a weekend lie-in, so I can't figure out how this works.

I'm at the maze, and I encounter the maze tapestry. I fail the check to defeat.

"If undefeated, summon and build the location Maze and move to it"

Do I ignore this bit as the maze is already out and I'm there? Or do I construct a never-ending string of mazes?

Wow.. I'll let the experts answer but... Would be fun if it was a maze within the maze...

You mostly ignore it:

Move: When you choose to move, you just always select a new location, although it is possible for some effects to move you to the same location you came from. If you do not change locations, your character is not considered to have entered or left a location.

So you don't build a location (it's already there) but you are involuntarily moved back to it, normally with no related effects.

  • You do not summon and build the Maze, because it is already built.
  • You do not trigger any effects that are related to moving to or from a location as you did not move.
  • You roll your d20 and see if you get to banish the tapestry or if it is just shuffled back into the Maze.

It's basically a free pass, the only thing it lost you was that explore :)
