Ok hello all I have been looking around but cant seem to find it anywhere and I am trusting on the friendly lot that are here.

I am a GM and I am creating my party using PCGen and I uploaded a players sheet onto the program and I was checking it to make sure all the stuff was correct from character creation session we had but I noticed that this player who is a Level 2 ninja and is using a Wakizashi as her primary weapon is getting a +4 on attack bonus when her melee attack bonus is a 1+ her strength stat which is a 13(+1) which makes it a two, why is it a 4? isn't that a range attack because her dex is a mod of 3 and her range attack bonus would be a 4 correct? then why is her melee a 4?

Does the PC have either the Weapon Finesse feat or the Ninja Talent: Rogue Talent: Finesse Rogue? If they do, then their melee bonus is calculated with Dexterity instead of Strength.

By jolly she does, would that be the trick?

Probably. These Feat / Talent choices are pretty popular for Rogues and Ninjas.

Yes. Either of those options allow you to add Dex to hit instead of Str with finesse-able weapons, which a wakizashi is.
