Flight (4 RP): Prerequisites: None; Benefit: Members of this race have a fly speed of 30 feet with clumsy maneuverability. Special: This trait can be taken more than once. For each additional 2 RP spent, the race's fly speed increases by +10 feet, and the maneuverability improves by one step.

If you build a race and give it flight does this automatically give them wings? Or can it just be flight similar to Superman? And if it is flight without the use of wings would it be (Su) or (Ex)? I assume it would not be (Sp) because it is not coming from a spell itself, just the ability to fly.

Im guessing atleast the basic version gives you wings , since it says clumsy.

If you buy multiple levels and get to good, then i wonder.

It gives you physical flight with wings.

The race builder mentions the following:

Quote:
Unless stated otherwise, all racial traits are extraordinary abilities, and each racial trait can only be taken once.

None of the flight options include (Su) tags, so they're all extraordinary, which means wings.

Or gas powered biological jetpacks.

There's only one exhaust port and it sometimes ejects solid fuel waste.

And sometimes a liquid fuel waste.

Guys we're talking about living beings, not jet planes.

Transformers are living beings, and sometimes jet planes.

Also, given the weirdness of some of the existing 0HD races having some sort of biological jet isn't really so far out there. Ghoran I'm looking at you, you weirdo.

ARG can be used to build construct races, as well as undead.

To be fair, Ghorans also have "Delicious" as a racial trait.

Liberty's Edge

Squids and co.
Jet propulsion in animals

They use jet propulsion in water, but seeing the weird creatures that exist in D&D it wouldn't be strange to see a creature with wing for gliding and the ability to use jet propulsion for a short time to gain speed and altitude.

After all we have the Zomok.
"At first glance, this creature resembles a dragon, but its body is entirely made of plants and soil, and it exhales clouds of dirt."
