Do you know that Mike is multilingual?
- English: Mike is short for "Michael" in the US, right?
- German: Michael is shortened in Germany to "Michi", similar as the US "Mike".
- Japanese: Michi is also a Japanese word which translates into English as "Path".
And then, we are back to English again.

Japan is an unusual market, and it's a bit hard to break into. We do have some leads, but they take a *lot* of time to pan out.
We're very interested in finding a great Japanese partner, but keep in mind we're not looking for a distributor (meaning a company that buys products from a publisher like Paizo and sells them to retailers in Japan). We're looking for a translation partner, meaning a publisher that we license the rights to; they translate, manufacture, market, and sell it into that market.
May be the first word, you are going to hear tomorrow morning in your office, will be "ohayou" which is short for "good morning".
How do your employees memorize that difficult word?? The pronunciation is similar to an US state. Which is it? Hint: This time Mike is not involved ;-)
MTG sells worldwide... even in Japan. I still have 3 unopened black-bordered Japanese 4th editon displays in my cupboard. This edition was the first Japanese MTG release.
PS: Besides that, I like black-bordered cards a lot. Hopefully, PACG never turns "Unlimited". ;-)

Digital (mobile) platforms seem to be big in Japan.
That might be a good "in" for Japan.

Excellent work MyFly. I always enjoy arranging a "hook-up" between industry people, so I also like seeing others do the same thing.
This seems like a good time to point out that Kittenhoarder and I have granted permission for translations of the Adventure Guide into other languages, so if anyone wants to do this, have at it!

That's fabulous, and I don't wish to take away from that at all, but I do need to point out that the rights granted to you under our Community Use Policy are not transferable, so anybody who wants to distribute a translation of your Adventure Guides needs to adhere to the Community Use Policy as well.
It's good to remind people. I already covered it in the very first release of the document (which included the other mandatory disclosures):

There's already a German translation of the Adventure Guide, which is why I brought it up in the first place. I don't know what happened to the Spanish translation, because somebody asked me if it was okay (which is was if they followed the CUP.)
