Help me build a boss fight - UNITY

Iron Gods

Hi everyone,
My party will start Palace of Fallen Stars this week and I have started thinking about the final showdown with UNITY. My current plan is to have a two phase fight essentially.

First phase is as described in the adventure vs the digital solar. Once that is defeated I was going to have a spiel from UNITY making fun of them and telling them how she delayed them long enough to transfer herself to the shuttle which is about to launch into space. Assuming the party gets to the shuttle thats where the second battle will occur as the shuttle hurtles into space.

But I am not sure what to do here in terms of mechanics that would make sense thematically. Open to ideas/suggestions.

So, for a start you need to determine how long it takes for the shuttle to get to space. Now a rocket using our current level of technology would take about 25 rounds to reach space. Now most combats don't last more than about 5 rounds, 12 rounds on a really hard battle. So I would say using the sci fi future tech, the shuttle reaches space in 3 rounds.

The players would feel the G-Forces as High Gravity (see: Distant Worlds)

After that the PCs would be in Space, which is treated as Zero Gravity (see again: Distant Worlds)

Unity has probably already modified the shuttle to have internal defences, which she can activate as a free action. Lazer turrets and the like. But once she's in space she's more than happy to open the airlock and suck the PCs out into space, closing the door behind if they all get sucked out. She can magnetically clamp onto the floor, wall or ceiling and doesn't breathe. Player characters who do breathe will need to hold their breath. Putting them on a clock, unless they can manually override the door controls and reset the oxygen with Disable Device checks (opposed by Unity).

Now this sounds deadly. But odds are, PCs have prepped Teleport, and if they need to retreat back to Golarion they can. But to return to the shuttle, better prepared with Planetary Adaptation spells, potions of fly, and more force fields should be allowable. They just need to either Jerry Rig another shuttle, or prepare Interplanetary teleport as regular teleport won't be precise enough to bamf back into the shuttle.

hmm interesting ideas. It essentially becomes more of a skill challenge. This is 5e my characters won't have an option to retreat is it may potentially be a suicide mission.

I guess the fight with the Aggregate and other robot UNITY takes over is kind of phase 1, phase 2 would be Unity's Avatar then phase 3 on the shuttle.

If they defeat Unity flying the Shuttle back to the surface would be a good way to finish it off. Trying to stop themselves from burning up in the atmosphere.
