What is the intent behind this barrier? There is no consequence for failure as only monsters deal damage for failed checks to defeat? It moves people but other than that it's not much of a threat... especially in 5-4 where moving from locations isn't that detrimental.
I haven't seen the card, but if it doesn't self-banish after it moves you - there's your consequence right there. You just wasted an explore, the card shuffles back in its deck, and you're likely to meet it again. A lot of the 'door' barriers in RotR were the same, if I recall correctly.

So you run into the card. Everyone at another location makes a check or moves to your location and then you check to defeat and if you fail you take no damage and essentially lose an explore as the henchman is shuffled back into the deck. That is how I believe this card is played. Am I missing something.
How many people look at this henchman for the first time and assume its a monster. I know there is a small text box on the upper right that says barrier but I have to admit my brain looks at that card and just assumes monster. Wonder if there is another and/or bigger way to note whether a henchman is a monster or a barrier that jumps out a little more. I think there have been a couple henchmen in Wrath that have been barriers but looked like monsters. The army henchmen are an example I think. I think on my first play through I was taking damage for failing checks against the army henchmen until I realized they were barriers.

I think it's more of learning to recognize where the actual type is on henchmen, villains and loot. All three are card types that are other types of cards.
