Trade Goods

Are Trade Goods listed in Chapter 2 of Ultimate Equipment available?

For instance, could I trade 8 gold, for 1lb of Cotton?

Trade goods are not noted as illegal, so feel free to convert your cash into commodities, just note them all on your ITS.

Rock on.

So, how are things like a pound of Gold(50gp) presented?

Like, a Gold Bar? What about the other Special Materials, like Mithral?

Grand Lodge

Could I get a Gold Bar, such as the standard 400 troy ounce bar(roughly 27 pounds)?

What exactly are you trying to do with trade goods?

Grand Lodge

Acquire them.

I want to know how they are presented.

Lumps of stuff, or bars, or what?

What do you want to do after you acquire them? - i.e. why does it matter how they are presented? they're trade goods, not collectors items, so yes, probably gold bars or such

Google circa early 19th century trade goods. Much of it hadn't changed significantly in centuries+. I think they still use jute/hemp/hessian bags now to transport grain.
Cotton will likely be in bales, Grain will be in sacks.
Most metal would be available in worked form, be that ingots, bars, rods or some other shape. I would be surprised to see raw lumps of metal as a trade good.

You can say your wealth takes what ever form you want , its more of an abstract anyways it could be Writs of Goods from the Bank of Absalom for all it matter.

Well, also, I could use lumps/bars/etc of Special Material as improvised weapons.

It works with Gold, as you can catch people by surpise by presenting them as payment, and then hitting them with it.

There are not too many ways to get Special Material improvised weapon, so the I figured buying them as Trade Goods would work.

Ok then why not ask that since that was your intention?

Grand Lodge

Well, I thought about it for other PCs I have as well, but more for aesthetic purposes.

I hadn't realized UE had Trade Goods.

My Paladin has been buying the ones from the CRB this entire time.

He has the Farmstead Vanity, so all gold he earns through his Day Job checks he converts into livestock Trade Goods.

At one point, I should check ITS's to see if they actually bought X-amount of Diamond Dust.

Otherwise I usually marked it as gold being burnt on the spot.

You can also hit people with a gold focus if that's something you're into...

Well, I didn't want to have a bunch of large-sized Durable Arrows of different materials.
