What happens to Loot when no one wants it?

Rules Questions and Gameplay Discussion

So today has been an eye opener, we are learning several things we have been doing wrong forever since RotR.

We get loot all the time that no one wants or can use, so what happens to it, typically we throw it back in the loot slot in the box and no one ever thinks of it again. Should it actually go into its type slot and get rotated through with everything else?

No, you are doing it right. It goes back in the loot slot, and won't end up in future locations.

For Guild play, the rewards are written so that if you have gained that reward (for either completing a specific scenario or completing the scenarios of an adventure) that opens up a loot card (or several loot cards) then it stays open for the rest of the adventure path.

For example, 1-3A Mistresses of Ruins, the reward states "For the rest of the Adventure Path, when setting up each scenario, you may choose a character to temporarily replace an item in her deck with the loot Black Robe."

It doesn't go away if someone doesn't choose it right away.

However, I'm not sure that's how loot rewards are written in S&S and WotR.

What loot, in particular, are you asking about? What's the reward wording?

Oh, and loot never ends up in the card type section. It is always kept separate from the other cards.

Theryon: I'm pretty sure they're just playing WotR out of the box, not Organized Play. (Slappy's been talking about playing Alain in other threads)

After passing up on some loot, the only way by RAW to get it back is to end up with less cards of a particular type in your deck at the end of the scenario such that you need to draw a replacement AD-2 card from the box. At that point, you can take a loot card of the appropriate type and deck number in addition to regular cards of that type.
