WotR Seoni in Organized Play

Pathfinder Adventure Card Society

I'm trying to pick a character or two for a certain upcoming organized play event, and I was thinking perhaps a sorcerer would be fun. I haven't gotten to explore WotR Seoni much and since she is so different I was intrigued. So I started looking at her powers and the class deck. There are obviously a few potential problems. The first one I noticed was her power feat to recharge items with the Attack trait. Since there are no items with the Attack trait in the class deck, that won't interact with anything there. (Obviously it might prove useful during a scenario if I acquired something, but I don't think I want to bank on such a specific set of cards being acquired and then played for a power feat choice).

So, has anyone played her in Organized Play yet and if so, where there any other problems that were unique to Organized Play rules? I won't mind taking the other 3 feats from the character card, and I think the roles will still work just fine, specifically the Element Master.

Thanks.

Honestly, I think WotR Seoni is one of the harder characters to adapt based on her card pool. (I did look at her prior to the season.) WotR Kyra and Harsk seem to do a bit better. (I play both ... both WotR versions.) But from the OP scenarios I've been exposed to (we're coming up on 1-3B), it flip-flops with their abilities. Demons one week and then cultists another and outsiders the next. But if someone is playing her in OP, I wouldn't mind hearing your experience with her.

Don't bank on always acquiring stuff you'll need to feed a power. The one consistent thing in OP is your own deck.

HM, also remember that a party full of paladins might be a good thing(?) LOL

I have a friend that likes Seoni and I consider the Wrath version the best version for Wrath, so that's what he's been playing. It's been OK, but he's been playing with cards that can keep you out of trouble(caltrops, cape). We've played through AD1.

He sometimes gets in trouble running out of spells if he can't cycle his deck fast enough, and needs low monster population locations to thrive.

Knowledge and perception are perfect skills for Wrath. It's also nice that she starts with a decent number of spells (so that she doesn't discard as much).

I'm not really a fan of the Elemental Master role when playing in OP, but maybe I'm missing something. Corruptor is very decent.

Seoni is doing OK, but as you know, arcane spellcasters have a much harder time in Wrath compared to martials.

On a side note, Enora with the Wizard Class deck has been pretty damn good overall.

Well, I figure everyone will be wanting to play a Paladin that soon after it releases. Though, I guess by the 19th of September there is a good chance people will have the Monk class deck and everyone will want to play a Monk.

I've only got the first 7 right now anyway, so I'll probably just build a few to have ready and see what others bring. Maybe I'll go with a Bard. How crazy would it be to be Siwar in WotR?

Silver Crusade 4/5 ***

We had someone play Siwar. She died in her third scenario, and we had to expend a lot of resources propping her up to get her that far. Her starting deck only has 2 options for combat: lightning touch and inflict. And her strength is a d4. I actually want to play Siwar a lot, and I'm hoping she's more viable in Mummy.

Three scenarios might actually be better than I thought for Siwar. I'm so conflicted. One the one hand, I want to use one of the minis I have (therefore I need to chose an iconic) and also play someone I haven't really gotten to play much, or at least a very different version of them like Seoni (so that probably means not an iconic). Hmm... we'll I've got a couple of weeks to figure it out.

Kingbrendarr plays a Siwar. The Army scenarios are great for her because she can actually use her abilities on it.

WotR Seoni is in my opinion better than Amaryllis because she can pull spells out of the discard rather than having to recharge them. Since Amaryllis should be viable, WotR Seoni should be too. Not the best, but okay.

Maybe try the RotR/S&S version of a character? I was using S&S Merisiel as my alt - because she has the Shadow ability of autopassing Knowledge checks, which is kinda useful in WotR. And reduces BYA damage too.

We have an Amaryllis that finished AD2, so she is viable, but has trouble like I've mentioned with Seoni. Sorcs need to cycle their deck quickly so they can get their combat spells again. If they clog their hands with useless boons, they're done.

Wrath has a lot of combat, Siwar would have a tough time, especially without armor. Also her ability to defeat barriers would be useless most of the time since many Wrath barriers don't have a defeat condition, or the defeat condition is combat. Would definitely be a challenge.
