Location trait when closed?

Rules Questions and Gameplay Discussion

Is an Abyssal location still Abydsal when closed?
Only the front of the card has the trait.
Cards have no memory, so I wouldn't think so, but why mark the location names in th black\red lettering?

Only the traits on the visible side are relevant, otherwise you'd have to keep flipping them over to see what they had. The different coloring is probably just to make it easier to see than the traits.

We decided to make the titles of all the Abyssal locations red because Sarah Robinson is kind of a badass.

Don't you like it when an explanation is precise, clever, FAQ and errata free and will be so cool when I will have to translate in French for my group?

Sort of an addon question to this...

In WOTR AD4, are locations still Abbysal after they close? The obvious answer seems to be yes, but I wanted to double check.

The rules for locations cards say "The front of each location card has the following features," before the discussion of traits. So traits are only listed on the front, and still apply when the card is flipped over. (Of course, if the location card has *two* fronts, a trait's presence or absence is very much relevant.)
