Serpentfolk immune to demoralize?

Rules Questions

Serpenfolk is one of the few humanoids that is immune to "mind-affecting effects" (Bestiary 2). In the Pathfinder Cronicles "Into The Darkness" Serpenfolk was originally described as immune to "mind-affecting magic". Demoralize with the intimidate skill is a non-magical mind-affecting fear effect.

The first one would not allow the use of the intimidate skill, the second does. Is it possible to demoralize serpentfolk?

I would say that Into The Darkness was probably before Bestiary 2?

If so, go with the Bestiary 2 ruling.

Otherwise, I think you would go with the "specific trumps general" ruling, and general Serpentfolk would use "effects" and when playing "Into The Darkness" you would use "magic".

No, Immunity to Mind-effecting includes all uses of mind-effecting including demoralize. You can't demoralize serpentfolk.

Also, "effect" and "descriptor" are sometimes used interchangeably. Even if is said descriptor or magic, intimidate still wouldn't work.
